Family Programs and Services Family Programs and Services at George Mason University recognize the critical role parents and families play in the successful development of college students. Moreover, our outreach to parents and families is representative of Mason’s diverse student body and therefore includes opportunities for involvement for parents, grandparents, spouses, loved-ones, siblings, and more. Our fundamental purpose is to define a relationship for parents and families at the University that create opportunities for involvement that begin prior to their student’s enrollment and are sustained beyond their student’s graduation from the University. We are committed to providing our parents and families with the necessary resources, guidance, and support that enable them to become confident and contributing members of the University community. Mason’s parents and families will become partners in the transition and student experience with shared accountability to their students’ success and connectedness at Mason.
