Now that we have wrapped up the spring semester and Commencement celebrations, we are gearing up for this year’s Family Weekend, which will take place November 8-10, 2019!
Family Weekend is a long-standing tradition here at Mason, and it is a time for families to come back to campus and experience the same spirit that our students enjoy throughout the year. By participating in this weekend of fun-filled events, you can gain a glimpse into your student’s life at Mason, its academic excellence, and the energy of our vibrant campus.
Registration opens August 12
Registration will open on August 12 at masonfamilyevents.gmu.edu and will remain open until October 27 at 11:59 p.m. Register early and reserve your spot for some of our more popular events that will reach capacity quickly.
Weekend Highlights
This year’s schedule of events is filled with opportunities to experience Mason, the Fairfax community, and the destinations in the greater D.C. area. Our schedule features a 5K race, faculty speakers, student performances, and so much more! Where to Stay
We offer a variety of discounted rates at local hotels for families at Marriott partner properties. During Family Weekend, there are various local hotel options to choose from including Courtyard Fairfax Fair Oaks, Residence Inn Fairfax City, SpringHill Suites Fairfax Fair Oaks, and Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks. We encourage your family to book your hotel by October 24 to take advantage of the discounted hotel rates.
Family of the Year Award
Could your family be our next Family of the Year? Be on the lookout for more information about how your student can nominate your family for the Alan and Sally Merten Family of the Year Award, which will be presented during Family Weekend.
