Important Dates for December & Winter Break Closings


Before you know it, your Mason student(s) will be joining you all for winter break. Winter break will run from December 21-January 22 for students. The campus will be closed from December 22-January 6. Below are important dates for December and a breakdown of the residence halls, dining, recreation, student centers, and other office closings during winter break.

2018 Winter Break Closings

Residence Halls

Dec 20-Jan 18All freshmen buildings with the exception of Taylor, Roosevelt, and Jackson are closed. Please see hall closings for the complete list of closed and open buildings.
*Mason Global Center and Shenandoah Desks will be open 24 hours a day during the break. Rappahannock and Aquia Desks will close when the university closes. See desk operations for more information.

Dining
Winter break hours are not yet posted. Please check dining.gmu.edu/hours for any updates.

Fitness Centers

Dec 19-Jan 19Skyline is closed
Dec 24-25 & Dec 31-Jan 1Aquatic and Fitness Center is closed
Dec 24-26 & Dec 31-Jan 1Recreation and Athletic Complex is closed

Student Centers & Other Office Closings

Dec 10-Jan 21Fairfax clinic begins winter break hours. Arlington and SciTech clinics closed for winter break. Click here for hours of operations.
Dec 23-Jan 5All student centers (Johnson Center, Student Union Building I and the Hub) are closed. Normal hours will resume on January 6.
