Sibs & Kids Weekend registration opens this week!

February 11, 2020 | Filed under: Mason Family Flash

Registration opens this week for Sibs & Kids Weekend, which will be held April 18-19! From Patriot Pride Palooza, to greenhouse tours, to free play at Corner Pocket, to a scavenger hunt and a movie, #MasonSibsKids20 has something for everyone.

Mason students are invited to bring their siblings, other family members, and friends between ages 6-18 to campus for a weekend full of events for a glimpse into life as a Patriot! It is free for Mason students, $25 for participants (ages 6-18) and $15 for Mason faculty and staff. Now that registration is open, visit masonfamilyevents.gmu.edu/overnight-stay-permission-of-participation-waiver-form to submit in waiver form for every participant (except Mason student and faculty/staff) then proceed to masonfamilyevents.gmu.edu to register.

Check out a few highlights of Sibs & Kids Weekend below:

  • Meals – On Saturday evening for dinner and Sunday morning for breakfast, participants will experience eating in the campus dining halls. Need we say more? These meals are included in the Sibs & Kids Weekend registration!
  • Overnight stay in the residence halls – Does your Mason student live on campus? Do they have a siblings or family friends ages 13-18? In partnership with Housing and Residence Life, older guests are invited to stay overnight with their Mason student in the residence halls. We also offer late-night programming for them to spend more time together and get to know other Mason students and Sibs & Kids Weekend participants.
  • Games & giveaways – If your student and their siblings or family friends have a competitive side, they won’t want to miss this weekend! There will be plenty of opportunities for a friendly rivalry with a scavenger hunt, games, and recreation activities.
  • What do families do during Sibs & Kids Weekend? Sibs & Kids Weekend is Mason’s gift of relaxation to our families. This is a time for you to stay home without your kids or to visit the university. Find a local hotel and enjoy all that Northern Virginia and the D.C. area have to offer! On Sunday, we also invite you to breakfast for a chance to gather as a family.

Check out the George Mason Family Programs Facebook page to view last year’s Sibs & Kids Weekend photos!
