Whether your student is selecting on-campus housing for the first time, or has been through the process before, there are important dates and terms for you and your student to keep in mind.
1. Forming a Group – Now that applications have been submitted and the $300 deposit has been paid, it is time to start the grouping process. Students are invited to form a group of two, three, four, five or six members to move forward through the housing application process. Students do not have to form a group; they can select as individuals. Keep in mind that more than 70 percent of the spaces on campus are four-person suites.
2. Important Dates – There are a few key dates to keep in mind as your student moves through the housing selection process:
February 12-16 | Form your group or decide to select as an individual |
March 1-2 | Groups of 6 select housing |
March 5 | Groups of 5 select housing |
March 7-8 | Groups of 4 select housing |
March 20-21 | Groups of 3 select housing |
March 27-28 | Groups of 2 select housing |
April 4-6 | Individuals select housing |
3. Selection Order – Group order will be determined by the average seniority of group members. Seniority is based on credits earned at Mason.
