Exploring with Mason: Cultural Study Tours

Programs that you can do with your student are always awesome- but programs you can do with your student all over the world are even better! Mason Cultural Tours are a new initiative in the Mason Study Abroad Office, which evolved from the popular Spring Break tours held in the past. Participants of all kinds are welcome!

The cultural study tour programs increase engagement with Mason while providing quality cultural experiences in various international regions. Group rates are passed along to participants to ensure that their travel program is enjoyable and well organized. Mason students, faculty, alumni, family members and friends are invited to participate.

In 2017 the first program will be a cruise to Cuba, departing from Montego Bay, Jamaica on January 6, and visiting four ports as it circumnavigates the island. Only a few spaces remain on this special departure. A professor from the University of Havana will be a guest lecturer on board.

Later in March 2017, four nine-day programs are available including Peru and Machu Picchu; Classical Greece including a one-day cruise; Portugal, Lisbon and the Estoril Coast; and also Central European Capitals to include Budapest, Vienna and Prague. Each of the programs has a learning component appropriate to all audiences even though the programs are not for academic credit. Further programs are being planned for later next year.
