Over the past five years, the Family Weekend 5K Run/Walk has become one of our signature events during the weekend! This year’s event will be on Sunday, October 18 beginning at 8 a.m. You and your family should come prepared to walk or run, and most importantly, to enjoy Mason’s beautiful campus scenery.
The 5K route runs through Mason’s campus, and this year, our course will show off the newly opened Campus Drive, which connects East and West campuses.
In addition to a fun and competitive morning, all Family Weekend 5K participants will receive:
- A long sleeve t-shirt
- Official timing through Amazing Race Timing
- Snacks
- Prizes for fastest male and female
The race will be held rain or shine, so if you and your family are interested in some friendly competition with Mason students, families, alumni, and community members, we encourage you to register for the Family Weekend 5K!
You can register your family by visiting masonfamily.gmu.edu. If you have friends, or other family members, who will not be able to attend the entire weekend but would like to participate in the 5K, they can register here. Registration for all events will be open until October 4 at midnight EST.
