Now Live: Mason Families e-Calendar!

UpcomingDates-WebBanner2

Orientation and Family Programs and Services recognizes the important role you play in your student’s success. Our goal is to provide you with the tools to support your student throughout his or her time at Mason. Our annual family handbook and calendar is a great resource for identifying dates, events, and deadlines that are important to both you and your student throughout the year.

We are excited to announce that we have added an e-calendar feature to our website to help you better track the dates and deadlines that matter most to you and your student! Each event has an “add to my calendar” feature allowing you to sync events to your personal calendar and help keep you informed about upcoming dates and deadlines.

Visit masonfamily.gmu.edu/upcoming-dates/ to check out the calendar!

More than Shipping: UPS Services for Your Student

Freshman Move-In

At the UPS Store, our goal is to help your student attain what he/she needs to get the most out of the college experience. Our campus store stays open until 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 6 p.m. on Friday, and is open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, providing your student an opportunity to print a paper prior to evening classes or prepare for a project due the next day.

We offer a variety of printing services, ranging from simple copying and printing from a USB or email, to producing booklets, bound presentations, posters, and business cards to name a few. If your student is traveling for a study abroad program or starting an internship that requires ID photos, we can take their passport or ID photos in our store – no appointment is necessary. Our store also offers notary services, faxing and scanning.

Experts in shipping and packing, your student can ship with confidence. We will pack any item, including fragile or electronic items, and guarantee safe arrival on the date quoted. Dropping off a package or rented textbook with a prepaid label takes only a minute for us to scan it and give a receipt.

You can also ship packages to our store for your student to pick up, and your student can have items shipped here that they order online. There is a $5 pick-up fee for this service for anyone not holding a mailbox with our store. Our later store hours allow the student to pick up the package at their convenience if they are in class all day.

During the month of March we will post advertisements around campus encouraging students to utilize the Summer Storage program. Once the registration period begins later in the semester, your student will have the opportunity to sign up for the storage program via The UPS Store George Mason Unviersity Storage website or by visiting us in University Hall, located on the Fairfax campus. Be on the lookout for more information on summer storage during the upcoming months in a future Mason Family Flash.
