Registration now open for Sibs & Kids Weekend!

Sibs & Kids Weekend 2018Registration is now open for Sibs & Kids Weekend (formerly Siblings Weekend), which will be held April 21-22! From a Patriot Pride event, to an academic arcade, to paddle boarding lessons, tie-dye, trivia and a movie, #MasonSibsKids18 has something for everyone.

Mason students are invited to bring their sibling(s) or any child, niece, nephew, cousin, friend or neighbor to campus for a weekend full of events designed for them to experience life as a Mason Patriot! It is free for Mason students, $10 for Mason faculty and staff, $20 for younger participants (ages 6-12) and $30 for older participants (ages 13-18). Registration is now open at masonfamilyevents.gmu.edu. All Sibs & Kids Weekend participants are required to have a permission of participation waiver on file and will not be permitted to participate in the weekend’s activities without one.

Check out a few highlights of Sibs & Kids Weekend below:

1. Meals – Pizza and trivia on Saturday night. Breakfast and bingo on Sunday morning. Need we say more? These meals are included in your Sibs & Kids Weekend registration!

2. Overnight stay in residence halls – Does your Mason student live on campus? Do they have a sibling(s) or family friend ages 13-18? In partnership with Housing and Residence Life, we invite them to stay overnight in the residence hall with your Mason student. We also offer late-night programming for them to spend more time together and get to know other Mason students and Sibs & Kids Weekend participants.

3. Games and giveaways – If your student and their sibling(s) or family friend have a competitive side, they won’t want to miss this weekend! There will be plenty of opportunities for a friendly rivalry with a scavenger hunt, games, and recreation competitions.

4. What do parents and family members do during Sibs & Kids Weekend? Sibs & Kids Weekend is Mason’s gift of relaxation to our parents and family members. This is a time for you to stay home without your kids or to visit the university. Find a local hotel and enjoy all that Northern Virginia and the D.C. area have to offer! On Sunday, we also invite you to Breakfast and Bingo at Ike’s for a chance to gather as a family.
