Show off your Patriot pride at Mason Madness

Mason Madness is one of the premier events on campus during the fall semester. This annual tip-off to the college basketball season will take place on Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. inside EagleBank Arena. Mason Madness also will be streamed live exclusively on GoMason.com.

In addition, Mason fans will be treated to a performance by Steve Max, master of Simon Sez, known nationally for his appearances on TV and at NBA & NCAA basketball halftimes.

New this year, #MasonNation also will enjoy a show from Air Elite, the official Dunk Team for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.

As always, #MasonNation will get a chance to meet the 2019-20 men’s and women’s basketball teams, enjoy performances from the Masonettes, Mason Cheerleaders, Mason’s first hip-hop dance crew – Urbanknowlogy 101 and take part in a series of promotions.

Mason Madness is FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit GoMason.com.

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
Mason is coming off a 2018-19 campaign in which the Patriots set a new program record with 11 Atlantic 10 victories and set a program best with five A-10 road triumphs. Mason returns 11 letter winners and three starters from that squad, including 2019 A-10 Most Improved Player Justin Kier. The Patriots also welcome three incoming student-athletes to the roster, including forward Josh Oduro (Gainesville, Va./Paul VI) and guards Xavier Johnson (Germantown, Md./Episcopal) and Bahaïde Haidara (Montréal, Quebec/Dawson College).

The Mason women return nine letterwinners and all five starters from a team that clinched back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in 15 years. Rising junior, Nicole Cardaño-Hillary, the 2019 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, returns after averaging 20.4 and 2.2 steals per game – _both first in the A-10 last season. The Patriots welcome six incoming freshmen – Rachel Balzer, Tamia Lawhorne, Jordan Wakefield, Rosie Schweizer, Jazmyn Doster and Vita Stam – to the 2019-20 team.
